Efe Obada will not be going near Bills quarterback Josh Allen having joined Buffalo in the NFL offseason.
Obada sacked the likes of Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers in 2020 though it wasn’t enough to keep him at Carolina Panthers.
The Panthers signed a one-year deal with the Bills after the Panthers decided not to tender him as he entered the offseason as a restricted free agent.
Allen has become one of the stars of the NFL though Obada will not be honing his skills on the QB.
Obada said: “In practise, touching a quarterback is the quickest way to get sent home!
“I’ll do my job and compete against my O-linemen but I’m definitely going to start far away from my starting quarterback. We need him!”
Obada ended up in Buffalo with the Bills having been one game away from reaching the Super Bowl last season.
Though the AFC East wasn’t the only option for the Brit, who added: “I had a few offers, a few teams that were interested.
“It came down to a decision between Washington [Football Team] and Buffalo. Obviously, Washington would’ve been a connection with Ron Rivera, the fact that he gave me my start and the fact that he’s a great man. He makes you not just a better player but a better man.
“[But] ultimately, I felt like I made the right decision coming to Buffalo, with the fans and the culture.
“I’m coming in, I’m going to buy into the process,” he adds. “I know the standard, I know what’s demanded of me and what’s required of me.
“I’m here to do whatever it takes to help this team win, whether it’s on defence, special teams, whatever. That’s been my mentality throughout my whole career.”
