When is LiAngelo Ball playing in the NBA G League? Greensboro Swarm: Roster, stats, schedule

LiAngelo Ball continues to push for a chance in the NBA and will spend the season starting off with the Greensboro Swarm, the Charlotte Hornets’ G League affiliate.

After playing for the Hornets at Las Vegas Summer League, Ball signed to a non-guaranteed deal with the Hornets this offseason but was waived immediately after, allowing their G League team to retain his rights.

Shortly after he was selected with the No. 14 overall pick in the G League Draft as he looks to join older brother Lonzo (Chicago Bulls) and younger brother LaMelo (Charlotte Hornets) in the NBA.

Ball has a chance to impress in the G League and could force his way onto the Hornets’ roster. They currently already have two players on two-way contracts in rookies Scottie Lewis and Arnoldas Kulboka and if one of them is called up, Ball could fill in a two-way spot.

The Hornets currently have one roster spot available to round out their 15-man squad, but it will take some big performances from Ball to earn a call-up, either with the Hornets or another NBA team.

The 22-year-old got his G League career off to a hot start in their first game of the Showcase Cup, dropping 22 points in 24 minutes off the bench against the Birmingham Squadron.

The Swarm will play a 50-game season, beginning with the Showcase Cup, before the regular season gets underway in December.
