Frank Warren has hit back at Eddie Hearn’s accusation that Queensbury tried to ‘grass’ on Matchroom to the British Boxing of Control over coronavirus guideline violations.
Hearn was responding to Warren’s call for a cross-promotional fight night where Queensbury’s best take on Matchroom’s, including Anthony Yarde vs Joshua Buatsi and Dillian Whyte vs Daniel Dubois.
The Matchroom boss hinted at plenty of bad blood between the promotional companies, but Warren has now addressed Hearn’s complaints.
Eddie, this is Frank. As you know I don’t use Twitter but I saw your response to our statement yesterday so I shall respond personally,’ Warren said in a statement on Twitter.
‘1. Legal letters only get sent when you interfere with contracts by contacting boxers directly, instead of talking to us when you know they are under contract. You know how it works and did it only recently when you put a ‘cease and desist’ letter on Telemundo when they were planning a show featuring Amanda Serrano. I sympathised with your point on that by the way.
‘2. As for Twitter accounts, I don’t use Twitter personally as you have pointed out many times before but the fellas tel me that something called Matchroom bots is apparently a ‘thing’. So you’ve lost on that points but be assured this message is actually from me.
