Frank Warren says Brook beating Crawford would be a ‘top three’ British win

Kell Brook would pull off one of the top three all-time shocks from a British fighter if he upsets Terence Crawford this weekend.

There is no doubt it wouldn't be far off Tyson Fury's victory over Wladimir Klitschko and Lloyd Honeyghan's win over Don Curry that's for sure.

But it is really hard to find a way for him to dethrone the WBO welterweight king in Las Vegas.

Brook has gone out on his own away from his promoter to secure the bout against the unbeaten three-weight world champion.

While he has changed up his whole team, too.

But I don't think that will help him conquer one of the pound-for-pound greats.

Brook has been a fine fighter over the years but I felt he maybe should have retired after his defeat by Errol Spence Jnr in 2017.

The Sheffield star suffered a second broken orbital bone which is worrying at this level.

When those injuries start happening, sometimes it is best to call it a day.

That was a tough night as was his bold bid to go up to middleweight to take on Gennady Golovkin before that.

He hasn't fought at 10st 7lb since that night at Bramall Lane against Spence either which is also a concern.

It would be great for British boxing if he can pull off the upset though.

It just won't be easy against one of the best in the world.

Meanwhile, I've been watching some videos of the work in the gym Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce have been doing ahead of their November 28 showdown.

And it is fantastic to see both of them in such good shape drawing closer to the British, Commonwealth and European heavyweight title scrap.

Both men deserve huge credit taking on this fight in the middle of a pandemic and in a lockdown.

Finding sparring partners and juggling the restrictions is all the more challenging at this time.

But they are both still putting it all in to make sure we get a great fight later this month.
