Jiri Prochazka stuns UFC with spinning back elbow decapitation of Dominick Reyes

Any knockout you see in a combat sport is wild but some KOs leave the sport in shock more than others.

In the main event of the UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas, Czech star Jiri Prochazka has made himself a big name in the UFC light heavyweight division with a stunning finish.

Not only that, he destined Dominick Reyes to his third straight loss, after he lost fights for the UFC light heavyweight championship twice before fighting Prochazka.

Reyes lost a war with Jon Jones in UFC 247 before being given another shot at the belt when Jones vacated the belt after a disagreement with UFC boss Dana White before he moved to heavyweight.

He was then knocked out by current champ Jan Blachowicz in the second round at UFC 253.

Looking to come back from the losses, Reyes found himself hitting a Czech wall as Prochazka knocked him out with the third spinning back elbow in UFC history, coming after South Korean’s Don Hyun King in March 2014, while Ricardo Ramos had the second at UFC 217 in November 2017.

Not bad for his second fight in the promotion.

While he’s not been in the UFC for long, his professional record has moved to 28-3-1 but has come with 10 straight knockouts.

This has to be the best one though.Source:FOX SPORTS

It came towards the end of the second round of the fight with Prochazka all over Reyes as he dropped a series of elbows before unleashing the devastating finish.

“I just flow,” the 28-year-old said after the fight.

“After some counterpunches from Dominick, I can have no chance to think for some plans.

“I just was in the flow. [I thought], ‘After that, maybe spinning elbow. OK, let’s try it.’”

It was a move that has the UFC world talking with Blachowicz tweeting at the new star.

Blachowicz will have to get past no. 1 contender Glover Teixeira at UFC 266 in September.

But when he was asked about a title shot, Prochazka appears to be open to the step up.

“Yeah … OK … let’s do that,” Prochazka said. “I like my neighbour Blachowicz. That’s a big honour for me.”

As for what he’d do with his $100,000 bonus for fight of the night and performance of the night, Prochakza showed off his sense of humour.

“I will buy some expensive car and crash it,” he deadpanned. My ego likes the money to have everything. The girls, the cars, the expensive ships and the big parties.”

Not only funny, Prochakza showed his respect, bowing and shaking hands with Reyes as he was being attended by medical staff and his team.

Former light heavyweight and heavyweight champ-champ Daniel Cormier tweeted after the fight that Prochazka could be a force in the division.

“This dude Prochazka is like an avalanche going downhill. He just blitzes these dudes. He uses his cardio as a weapon, has a fantastic chin and great finishing instincts. I’m very excited about this dude!”

The UFC world rightly lost its mind.

Damnnnn that was madness πŸ‘ŠπŸΏπŸ€― #UFCVegas25

Jiri Prochazka is a terrifying human being. #UFCVegas25

Jiri Prochazka is a scary, violent man. I mean that as a compliment.

That Prochazka KO was crazy. That fight in general was madness. Wow.

Somewhere, Jake Paul just whispered to himself, "Maybe I'll call out Jiri Prochazka" then immediately decided that he didn't really want to die after all.
