YouTuber who created fake UFC media pass charged over fraud and trespassing

A YouTuber accused of blagging their way into a UFC event in Australia has been charged with fraud and trespassing.

Michael Robert Todoro and an accomplice were charged with allegedly using fake credentials to enter UFC 284 on February 12. The Australians were able to watch Islam Makhachev featherweight title defence against Australian lightweight champion Alexander Volkanovski.

Tickets for a cage-side seat at the RAC Arena in Perth were being snapped up for around £5400, yet Todoro and his friend would have been able to watch the bout for free in those stunning seats. However, it appears their actions have caught up with them.

Western Australian police said the pair “used the manufactured items to gain access and film themselves in restricted areas, including the entrance to the changerooms, cage-side, a media briefing room and in ticketed areas.”

They filmed their access and uploaded it to Todoro’s YouTube page, where he is better known by his subscribers as “MikeyT”. However, Police did say at least one of the duo did manage to have a ticket to the event.

Todoro is also accused of repeatedly flashing his fake security pass to get themselves into the locker rooms. They even reportedly managed to walk out with Volkanovski.

They are scheduled to face charges of gains benefit by fraud and trespass. Their case will take place at Perth Magistrates Court on April 5 and 6.

Todoro has even appeared as a guest on the Triple M podcast and YouTube channel explain how he managed to get into the arena. In February, he not only went through the way in which he managed to get into the arena, he even pointed out where he was in other backstage and ringside videos.

Perched in one of the most sought after seats in the arena, Todoro and his friend saw Makhackev successfully defend his featherweight belt, courtesy of a controversial split decision.
