An Instagram post from the Geelong Cats is raising eyebrows after a rumoured rift between star forwards Tom Hawkins and Gary Rohan.
Reports first emerged in November that Rohan had split from wife Amie earlier in 2020.
It was revealed this month that a Geelong Cats physiotherapist romantically linked to Rohan did not have her contract renewed and has left the club.

Rohan and Hawkins showed no sign of friction on the field last season as the Cats went all the way to the Grand Final while playing most of the season stuck in their Queensland isolation hub.
However, unfounded rumours last year claimed the pair’s relationship turned sour as a result of Rohan’s private life.

Rohan and Instagram influencer partner Amie are reported to have gone their separate ways when the Cats star was forced to leave Victoria with his teammates in July when the NSW border was about to shut.
The split occurred just a few months after the couple celebrated the birth of their third child Sadie Rose in March.
Amie was a notable absentee when many of the club’s partners and children joined the players inside their Gold Coast isolation hub in August.

Amie stayed behind on the Bellarine Coast near Geelong with daughters Bella and seven-month-old Sadie Rose.
It was in the AFL’s isolation bubble that Hawkins is reported to have confronted Rohan about his behaviour during the Cats’ isolation on the Gold Coast.
The Geelong Advertiser reported at the time the two stars had a “cat fight”.

That turbulent period appears to have simmered in recent times with the Cats this week posting an image of Hawkins and Rohan sharing a laugh together during a pre-season training session.
The Herald Sun reports Rohan has since been unfollowed by wife Amie on Instagram.
Amie in November posted a cryptic, inspirational message to her 35,000 Instagram followers as news of her separation spread across the country.
“Please be strong in who you are and please don’t let the actions of another convince you that you are not good enough as you are,” the message read.
