Jalen Ramsey has a piece of advice for Leonard Fournette: Get out.
The former Jaguar and current Ram sent a strong message in response to a Fournette tweet earlier in the week. Fournette called out a reporter for his opinion of the running back’s standing with the organization.
“You know they been clowns brudda… #GETOUT lol,” Ramsey’s tweet reads.
FREE AGENCY GRADES: Best and worst moves of NFL offseason
While it seems to be in direct response to Fournette’s dislike of the original interview — one in which the AP’s Mark Long said he doesn’t believe Fournette will play “another down” with Jacksonville — it’s the latest in a dramatic two seasons for the Jaguars. Ramsey forced himself out of Jacksonville last season, making his way to Los Angeles for two first-round picks and a fourth-round pick.
But it’s not the first slice of drama for the Jags this offseason, just the most recent.
Just last week, Fournette offered a recruitment pitch of free agent quarterback Cam Newton via Instagram, despite it looking like Gardner Minshew could be the answer moving forward at QB for the Jags.
In the last six months, the Jags have moved on from Ramsey, Nick Foles, Dante Fowler, Calais Campbell and potentially Yannick Ngakoue. There have been rumors surrounding the release or trade of Fournette for some time now, dating back to the 2018 season.
Speaking of Ngakoue, he took the time on Tuesday — his birthday — to send the Jaguars a message: It’s time to move on.
This all comes a few seasons after the Jaguars made the AFC championship game and were a few plays (and a good quarterback) away from downing the Patriots and punching a ticket to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately for Jacksonville, that didn’t happen, and they’ve been on a downward spiral since then.
It’s all burning down in Jacksonville.
