Thanks to some late-inning heroics, the Braves are one win away from their first World Series title since 1995.
Dansby Swanson and Jorge Soler hit back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the seventh to erase a one-run deficit, giving Atlanta an eventual 3-2 win in Game 4 and a 3-1 series lead.
It marked just the third time in World Series history that there game-tying and go-ahead homers hit back-to-back.
Soler, along with Joc Pederson, Eddie Rosario and Adam Duvall, has been one of the many midseason acquisitions who have helped the Braves get to this point. Soler led off Game 1 of the World Series with a home run off of Framber Valdez and then came off the bench to hit the go-ahead home run in Game 4.
The Astros have scored two runs or fewer in three of the first four games of the series. They left 11 runners on base in Game 4 as the Braves went with a bullpen game.
Houston will send Game 1 starter Framber Valdez to mound in Game 5. It’s not yet known in whom the Braves will initially place their World Series hopes.
