Kentucky junior quarterback Will Levis made headlines for eating a banana — with the peel — in a TikTok on July 3, and now he has the college football world going bananas.
SEC Network’s pregame crew — Laura Rutledge, Paul Finebaum, Tim Tebow, Jordan Rodgers, Marty Smith and Ryan McGee — each had an attempt Saturday at the “Will Levis Challenge,” with each commentator taking a bite out of an unpeeled banana. Smith appeared to have the biggest bite of the bunch.
Levis made his first start for Kentucky on Saturday against Louisiana-Monroe. The Penn State transfer completed 18 of 26 passes for 367 yards and four touchdowns against one interception in a 45-10 Wildcats victory. On Friday, Kentucky coach Mark Stoops told ESPN’s Alyssa Lang he would eat an unpeeled banana if Levis exceeded 400 yards passing. Levis was pulled early in the fourth quarter and unable to reach that total.

Lang herself ate an unpeeled banana while reporting on the game, and Stoops joked in his postgame press conference that he “got (Levis) out of there” since he was so close to 400 yards.
Levis and the Wildcats will next face Missouri on Saturday, Sept. 11, on SEC Network. Will Stoops have to eat the banana then? We’ll see.
