Red Bull team principal Christian Horner was left baffled but ultimately impressed after an influencer showed him his face plastered on the side of a Formula 2 car.
Horner would have enjoyed the Italian Grand Prix as Max Verstappen recovered from a five-place grid penalty to frustrate the Tifosi and claim his 11th win of the 2022 season. The reigning world champion had been leading the race after Ferrari’s Leclerc – who secured pole position on Saturday – made a second pitstop to change onto a set of soft tyres.
Verstappen was running a one-stop strategy on medium tyres and was able to hold the lead until the end. The result also saw Horner’s Red Bull team move 139 points clear of Ferrari in the Constructors’ Championship.

While enjoying some time away from the drama of F1, Horner met YouTuber and entrepreneur Carl Runefelt. Runefelt landed on Forbes 30 under 30 thanks to his endeavours – and it appears he has turned his attention to the pinnacle of motor racing.
On his Instagram, Runefelt – whose username is themooncarl – posted a video speaking with Horner and David Coulthard at an event. The caption read: “I put my face on a Formula car and @christianhorner likes the idea” – along with a laughing emoji.
In the video, Runefelt shows Horner and Coulthard the car and said: “I put my face on the car (Formula car)”
“Oh, you put your OWN face on the car?” Horner exclaimed. “Now that is that’s quite smooth.”
“Yeah exactly, it’s a first!” Coulthard added.
Runefelt continued: “You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do to…”
“Promote yourself,” Horner continued.

Coulthard then asked Runefelt if he is dealing with any other effects of having his face on the car, with Horner tagging onto the question by suggesting people may recognise him.
“Yeah in the Formula 2 paddock, everyone is like [pointing],” Runefelt suggested. “Literally, people recognise me from that. It’s fun. It works.
“I mean, you’ve got to do something that no one did before to stick out!”
After appearing confused by the project at first, Horner’s tune appeared to change as he declared: “I like it!”
At the top of the standings, Red Bull star Verstappen holds a 116-point lead over teammate Sergio Perez in the Drivers’ Championship. The 22-race F1 2022 campaign continues with the Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay Street Circuit on October 2.
