F1 star in coronavirus scare ahead of British Grand Prix after inconclusive COVID test

Sergio Perez was away from the Silverstone track on Thursday after returning an “inconclusive” COVID-19 test. The Racing Point driver is currently in self-isolation and is awaiting the results of a re-test.

Perez was due to take part in the FIA press conference today ahead of the British Grand Prix, but he was absent from Racing Point’s scheduled slot.

Under the new system this season, drivers are being kept separate in Thursday’s allocated time for press conferences.

Usually up to five drivers from differing teams would sit at one table with journalists asking questions.

But due to the coronavirus pandemic, there are 10 separate team press conference scheduled throughout Thursday afternoon.
