Arsenal can extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to four points for a couple of hours at least if they beat Leeds United on Sunday. Gabriel Jesus is a doubt for the match after missing the trip to Bodo/Glimt in midweek. Express Sport looks at the XI Mikel Arteta is expected to pick at Elland Road.

Goalkeeper – Ramsdale

Aaron Ramsdale hasn’t kept a home clean sheet since March but has picked up three on his travels so far this season. The only away match Arsenal have conceded in was the only game they haven’t won this season – the 3-1 defeat at Manchester United.

Matt Turner impressed in midweek to show Arteta he has a capable No 2 waiting in the wings. But Ramsdale has a firm grip on the No 1 jersey and is looking to make a final push to secure a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup.

Defence – White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney

Arteta’s selection of Takehiro Tomiyasu at left-back against Liverpool was mostly to combat Mohamed Salah on the right wing. The Japan star performed admirably but Kieran Tierney is likely to come back into the side, with Oleksandr Zinchenko still set to be absent through injury.

Ben White is keeping Tomiyasu out of his preferred spot at right-back. White, Saliba and Gabriel have started every league match so far this term and that is likely to stay that way in Yorkshire.

Midfield – Partey, Odegaard, Xhaka

Granit Xhaka was given a much-needed rest from the start on Thursday, though was called upon in the second half to see through the win. He is pivotal to how Arteta wants his team to play and is proving to be more of an attacking threat as each game goes by.

Thomas Partey is almost irreplaceable as the holding midfielder, especially with Mohamed Elneny still absent. He enables skipper Martin Odegaard and his deputy Xhaka to venture forward.

Attack – Saka, Jesus, Martinelli

Arteta was unsure about Jesus when speaking after the match on Thursday. The Brazilian suffered a couple of knocks during the win over Liverpool.

However, he is made of strong stuff and will be doing all he can to start for the 10th league game in a row. Bukayo Saka was given a run out in midweek and was the match-winner.

He and Gabriel Martinelli have been two of the standout players for Arsenal this season and will give Leeds plenty to think about.

Arsenal expected XI vs Leeds in full: Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Odegaard, Xhaka; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli.
