After a difficult start to the season, Arsenal fans had become very optimistic heading into their weekend encounter with Liverpool after a sharp upturn in form lifted them into Champions League contention.
A harrowing 4-0 loss thanks to goals from Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and substitute Takumi Minamino has put a dampener on things and reinforced the need for January signings.
According to the latest reports, some of those moves could be funded by the sale of two midfielders.
That could help raise funds for another midfielder, and potentially a £25m 'bargain' from Serie A.
But there's also one player who has told the club he will not be moving to the Emirates Stadium.
Daily Star Sport has taken a look at the latest Arsenal transfer news below.
Departures could fund moves
Arsenal duo Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira could depart the club permanently in January, according to reports.
With the Gunners said to be keen on Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches, the departures could help Mikel Arteta fund a move for the Lille player, Football.London reports.
Sanches has said he is ready for a big move, telling L’Equipe this week: “Who is interested in me? Maybe Milan and Arsenal are interested, but I don’t know. I talked to my agent, I know which clubs are calling and which are not, but now I can’t tell. But I know I’m ready. If it happens, I’ll see what’s best for me."

Ajax star 'says no'
Despite repeatedly being linked with a move to Arsenal, Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana has reportedly already agreed a switch to Inter Milan.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports the Serie A side have ‘already found’ an agreement with the 25-year-old, who has ‘just said no to Arsenal too’.
It adds that an official announcement of the transfer will be made in February.
Price set for £25m 'bargain'
Sassuolo have set their price for star forward Domenico Berardi at a bargain £25m, it has been reported.
CalcioMercato reports that Fiorentina are also interested in the player, who has 111 goals and 71 assists in 302 Serie A games.
Arsenal have long been linked to the Italy forward and could now make a move for the player in January.
