Arsenal fans insist ‘future legend’ Smith Rowe is way superior to Chelsea stars

Arsenal fans have labelled Emile Smith Rowe a 'future legend' after his goalscoring performance against Leicester – and insisted he is better than Chelsea stars Kai Havert and Mason Mount.

Smith Rowe, 21, scored the Gunners' second goal of the afternoon as Mikel Arteta's side claimed all three points at the King Power.

The Hale End graduate picked his spot when the ball broke to him after good work from fellow academy product Bukayo Saka and Alexandre Lacazette.

His goal gave Arsenal a commanding lead in the Midlands, a position from which they never looked back, while his overall display might have seen him named man of the match, had it not been for the heroics of Aaron Ramsdale.

Nevertheless, Gunners fans were delighted with the performance of their young No.10, and they had no qualms about showing it on social media.

One excited supporter wrote: "FUTURE LEGEND OMDS. ESR > MOUNT ALL DAY LONG."

Someone else said: "Smith Rowe > Mount."

A third person commented: "F***ING BEAUTY MY GOLDEN BOY."

Another made a sly dig at former Arsenal goalkeeper Emi Martinez, writing: "The best Emi in the league."

While a fifth user chose to make a comparison with Havertz, beaming: "So clear of Havertz, hale end boys brazy today."

After a slow start to the season, Smith Rowe has now been involved in three goals in Arsenal's last two Premier League matches.

As well as scoring the second against Leicester, the youngster also provided a goal and an assist against Aston Villa last week.

Boss Mikel Arteta praised the whole team as Arsenal continued their good form with victory at the King Power.

Speaking to BT Sport, he said: "I was really happy, against a top team. It is really hard to come here and win. The way we did it – we had to come here and suffer and we managed the game really well in the second half."
