Aston Villa goalkeeper Pepe Reina was often the joker of the dressing room, particularly while on Spain duty earlier on his career.

But his hilarious antics are by no means a thing of the past after partaking in an ‘egg challenge’ on social media that poked fun at the lack of hair on his head.

The video posted on his official Instagram page by the 37-year-old – who is on loan at the West Midlands side from AC Milan – shows four eggs sat in what appear to be some very flowery cups.

Reina bends down before the video starts as to appear as one of the four eggs shown in cups

The well-renowned Queen’s track ‘I Want To Break Free’ can also be heard playing in the background, but it helps distract from Reina’s humourous act.

As Freddie Mercury blares out the chorus line, the Spaniard emerges as if from one of the pots, showing that the slightly lighter shade of supposed egg shell was indeed his head.

The former Spain international then shows off some rather cheeky dance moves and a beaming smile, but his video came with a more serious message through the caption underneath of: ‘We continue at home, but always with a smile’, followed by #StayAtHome and #WhereIsTheEgg.

He then rises and begins to dance with Queen’s ‘I want to break free’ playing in the background

The former Liverpool goalkeeper reported last month that he believes he contracted the disease after displaying some symptoms.

And he also revealed in an interview to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport that he feared for his life after struggling to breathe for 25 minutes.

‘The most difficult moment was when I could no longer breathe, the 25 minutes I ran out of oxygen. It was the worst moments of my life,’ he told them last month.

‘I don’t miss the company as it’s me, my wife Yolanda, five children and two in-laws. The house is big and loneliness has no access to my home.

Reina however believes he has suffered coronavirus symptons during this lockdown period

‘I was very tired after experiencing the first symptoms of the virus. A fever, dry cough and a headache that never left me – it was just that constant feeling of tiredness.

‘The only real fear I had was when I understood that there was no oxygen: endless minutes of fear, as if suddenly my throat had closed.

‘As a result I spent the first six or eight days indoors.’

In an interview last month he said he was not able to breathe for 25 minutes due to the virus
