Bruno Fernandes’ strange comments on ‘babies cup’ go down well with Man Utd fans

Manchester United fans have taken to Twitter to sing the praises of Bruno Fernandes after his bizarre ‘babies cup’ comments.

Fernandes has already become a firm fans favourite among Red Devils supporters for his inspiring performances since joining the club in January.

The Portugal playmaker led them to a surprise top four finish last season, and has continued to impress this term despite United’s underwhelming start to the season.

Fernandes tops the goal contribution charts for United this term, scoring six while setting up a further five.

But the admiration from United fans has gone up another notch after his latest views on bringing more silverware to Old Trafford.

He told United’s official podcast: “The mentality needs to be to win in the Premier League, Champions League, Carabao, to win in the FA Cup and if we play another babies cup we need to win I don’t care – if you are in the competition you need to win.”

Despite not appearing to make too much sense with his “babies cup” comment, the sentiment went down brilliantly among United fans.

Heralding his winning attitude, regardless of competition, the Old Trafford faithful gave their views on Fernandes in light of his remark.

“I love that,” one wrote. “Not enough people with this mentality in football anymore. Win at all costs no matter what. Anything less isn’t good enough.”

“ELITE MENTALITY,” a second added.
