Chelsea defender attracting interest from three clubs ahead of January transfer window

Chelsea ace Emerson Palmieri looks increasingly likely to leave in January with three clubs reportedly considering a bid in the New Year. Emerson was heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge but no deal was agreed.

But Ben Chilwell’s arrival at Chelsea has pushed Emerson down as the third-choice option.

The Italian full-back hasn’t been included in any of Chelsea’s Premier League matches so far.

Speaking earlier this month while on international duty, Emerson admitted to being frustrated with his position at Chelsea.

“When I arrive here I change my head, I feel important and part of the group,” he said.

“At Chelsea, things are not going as I wish in this part of the season. I just have to work.”

But it Emerson won’t have to wait too long to try and secure a move to find regular first-team football.

The 26-year-old was long touted to move back to Italy with both Juventus and Inter Milan said to be interested.

And Sky Sport Italia report both clubs are set to revive their interest in the New Year.

It is also claimed that Napoli are considering a move for Emerson.

Faouzi Ghoulam has been the first-choice option at Napoli this season with Mario Rui yet to feature in the league.

Inter are more desperate to sign Emerson though with 34-year-old Aleksandr Kolarov currently the only recognised left-back.

Antonio Conte though has adopted a three-man defence since taking charge with wingers Ivan Perisic and Achraf Hakimi playing the wing positions.

Juventus are similarly short of options at left-back with Alex Sandro currently out injured.

But Andrea Pirlo has also opted to play three at the back to start the season.

Emerson may not be the only Chelsea player looking to leave in January though with Antonio Rudiger struggling to break into Lampard’s team.

He was on the bench against Sevilla this week, but Rudiger is expected to push for a move away in the New Year.
