Chelsea get Kane boost, blow over Tapsoba price-tag as talks set for Broja

Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea have made no secret they are in the transfer market for a forward this summer with reports of ex-Blues striker Romelu Lukaku making a Stamford Bridge return.

With Antonio Conte leaving, rumoured to be linking up with London rivals Tottenham, Lukaku appeared to be unsettled in Milan and was looking for a way out of the San Siro.

However, the player has come out and rubbished those reports saying he is happy at Inter despite the club needing to sell their star players due to their poor finances.

Here's the latest from Daily Star Sport on Chelsea's latest transfer dealings.

Ex-player gives Kane boost

Former Chelsea and Tottenham defender William Gallas has stated that he thinks Harry Kane needs to leave the North London club in the search for trophies:

"To be honest, Harry needs to leave Tottenham. He has to because they did not give him the opportunity to play in the Champions League next season," said Gallas speaking exclusively to 888sport.

With Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United all in the hunt for Kane, Gallas expressed his desire to see the England captain stay in London:

"It will hurt Tottenham fans to see Kane go to Chelsea because we know the rivalry between the clubs," said Gallas.

"But at the same time, fans have to understand that Kane has been there for a number of years and he did everything to win the Premier League and unfortunately, it didn't happen

"They have to understand the boy needs to win something. Sometimes you have to leave your club to do that."

Tapsoba price-tag blow

Following an impressive season in the Bundesliga, Edmond Tapsoba has acquired plenty of admirers singing joining Bayer Leverkusen in January 2020.

A £15.5 million singing from Vitoria Guimaraes, the Burkina Faso international has shown his defensive prowess in Europe, helping Leverkusen top Group C of the Europa League before exiting in the Round of 32.

However, the Blues have been put off by his £60 million price-tag and are unwilling to match the fee.

Tapsoba signed a new deal back in December of last year, removing a £44 million release clause with Leverkusen looking to hold onto one of their prized assets.

Contract talks set with youngster Broja

Chelsea are set to open contract talks with youngster Armando Broja after he caught the eye on-loan at Vitesse Arnhem.

The teenager netted 11 times in all competitions as Vitesse qualified for the newly formed Europa Conference League.

His 11 goals mean he only scored one less than £53 million singing Timo Werner, despite playing 18 games fewer than the German international last season.

With reports of Abraham and Giroud heading out the exit door, tying Broja down to a long-term contract would be a smart bit of business from the Blues to start off the summer.
