Chelsea lead way in Sergio Reguilon transfer race but three other teams are keen

Chelsea are still keen on Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon, but face stiff competition from several other top clubs, it is claimed.

Reguilon has enjoyed a fruitful season on loan a Sevilla, impressing in La Liga and the Europa League.

And his form has seen him linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as Frank Lampard eyes a new left-back for next season.

Leicester City star Ben Chilwell and Ajax man Nicolas Tagliafico are two names already being mentioned as targets.

But Reguilon could be the better value option, especially compared to Chilwell who is rated at £80million by the Foxes.

The 23-year-old Spain Under-21 star is unlikely to return to the Bernabeu with Marcelo or Ferland Mendy preferred at left-back and will not cost a fortune.

And transfer expert Nicolo Schira claims agent Kia Joorabchian is trying hard to orchestrate a move away from the Spanish capital, with Chelsea the preferred destination.

But he claims Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Arsenal have also asked about signing him.

Schira tweeted the update, saying: “Kia Joorabchian is working to move Sergio Reguilon.

“Chelsea are really interested in him, but in the last days also Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Arsenal have asked info.”

Last week, Reguilon was asked what the future held for him – and he refused to rule out a move this summer.

He told Marca: "If my year at Sevilla had not been good, then this would not be happening… these teams would not ring.
