Cristiano Ronaldo, for now, reportedly isn’t Real Madrid’s priority transfer target. The Juventus star has been linked with a move away from Serie A in the wake of his side’s Champions League exit to Porto. But any return to the Bernabeu is dependent on Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe this summer.

Ronaldo has been a good asset for Juventus ever since moving from Real Madrid three years ago.

He’s continued to score with unnerving frequency, netting 95 times from 122 appearances.

Ronaldo has, however, now been linked with a move away from Juventus after failing to propel them to the Champions League trophy for the third year on the spin.

The Portugal international was brought in to deliver the biggest prize of all but, so far, that’s yet to happen.

Real Madrid have been tipped to re-sign their former No 7 as a result, particularly given the struggles of Eden Hazard since his move from Chelsea in the summer transfer window of 2019.

Yet for now, OkDiario claim the Madrid board don’t think about bringing Ronaldo back to Spain.

That could, however, change.

Real’s priority is Mbappe, whose own future at Paris Saint-Germain is up in the air.

The 2018 World Cup winner hasn’t signed a new contract at the Parc des Princes, with his current deal scheduled to expire next summer.

And while Real would love to land the France international, they’re willing to go after Haaland should an agreement for the PSG star fail to materialise.

If both players elude them, however, then a deal for Ronaldo could take place.

While Juventus have insisted he won’t be going anywhere, they may have to sell their prized asset if they’re to overhaul their squad.

And Zinedine Zidane’s comments made for interesting reading on Monday, with the Frenchman admitting talk of Ronaldo returning to the club ‘might be true’.

“Yes, it may be [true],” Zidane told Sky in Italy, when asked about the rumours linking Ronaldo with a return to Real.

“We know Cristiano, we know the person he is and everything he has done here.

“But now he’s a Juventus player and we must respect this.

“Now, let’s see what the future will be. I was lucky enough to coach him and he is very impressive. Right now, he’s helping Juventus.”

Juventus chief football officer Fabio Paratici has laughed off talk of a potential move away, saying: “It makes me laugh.

“I never imagined Ronaldo could be put into question. I grew up in a small town and I heard people discussing [Michel] Platini, [Ganni] Rivera, [Roberto] Baggio, top players inside bars.

“Ronaldo won five Ballon d’ors, I don’t know how many Champions League titles. He won so many trophies and scored so many goals at Juventus.

“It’s a privilege to have him here, we are happy to have him here.

“He surely represents the future of Juventus.”

Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid from Manchester United back in 2009, costing Los Blancos a world-record fee of £80million at the time.

But, in the end, the 36-year-old proved to be a bargain.

He scored 450 goals for the club, becoming their all-time leading scorer ahead of the likes of Raul and Alfredo Di Stefano.

And he delivered silverware galore, including four Champions League titles.
