Cristiano Ronaldo has no plans to leave Manchester United despite uncertainty mounting over his future, it has been claimed. The Portugal international has been linked with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain amid the club’s issues under Ralf Rangnick. However, he doesn’t appear ready to quit Old Trafford just yet.
With Ronaldo making the headlines, it was a surprise to not see him named in United’s squad for tonight’s FA Cup showdown with Aston Villa.
However, Rangnick has since explained the 36-year-old has been left out because of a ‘minor muscle problem’.
Links to Barcelona have arisen this week, with some suggesting Jorge Mendes could offer him to the Catalan giants at the end of the campaign.
PSG have also been mentioned as potential suitors, especially with Kylian Mbappe likely to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.
But Fabrizio Romano, speaking to The United Stand, has claimed Ronaldo has no desire to leave.

It’s claimed he won’t look to depart Old Trafford for a second time because it’s ‘not his style’ to leave on such a low.
Ronaldo first quit the Red Devils back in 2009, joining Real Madrid for a fee of £80million – making him the world’s most-expensive footballer at the time.
But he returned back in the summer because he felt he had unfinished business at the club.
Ronaldo hasn’t disappointed since coming back, scoring 14 goals across all competitions – more than any other player in the squad.
And Rangnick, speaking before his team’s match with Villa, opened up on when fans can expect to see him back in action.

“They are having problems,” he said of both Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.
“I wouldn’t say that they are injured, but they have muscular problems.
“I spoke with Cristiano yesterday before training, he told me that he’s had some problems for the last couple of days. Minor problems, but in the end, we decided that it made more sense to not take any risks in a game that could easily last 120 minutes, so we just decided to rest him, not play him at all.”
He then added: “I suppose he will be in the stadium but he had some problems with his hip, with his hip muscle, and we just decided that it would be better for him not to play this game.
“I don’t think it’s anything serious. He’s told me that he’s had that problem for the last couple of days.
“Again, in a cup game when you can play 120 minutes, I thought it would be better to not take any risks.”
While Ronaldo has been a hit for United, some believe the club have regressed following their decision to bring him back.
And former Manchester City star Trevor Sinclair thinks his old side dodged a bullet by not signing Ronaldo in the summer.
The United star appeared set to move to the Etihad before deciding to return to the Red Devils instead.
Sinclair said: “I’m starting to think that Manchester City dodged a bullet by not signing Cristiano.
“You look at some of the players that are struggling for form at Manchester United, young players, [Jadon] Sancho, [Marcus] Rashford, they are really struggling for good performances.
“Of course you can [blame Ronaldo]. Know your role, you’re a footballer, you’re hired by the football club.
“Keep your mouth shut because at times that’s the best thing to do. He’s causing a lot of problems at the football club.
“Not just his lack of goals in recent times, but the fact that Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] has gone and Michael [Carrick] went in and dropped him for a game.”
United lost 1-0 to Villa in their Premier League clash earlier in the season.
