Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi could reportedly join David Beckham's MLS franchise Inter Miami, after the 33-year-old admitted that he would "like to play in the United States".
Messi is out of contract with Barcelona in the summer and could leave for free after handing in a transfer request in August.
A potential reunion with former boss Pep Guardiola at Manchester City has been heavily rumoured but, according to Catalunya Radio, Messi wants to play alongside Luis Suarez again and the pair could join forces at Inter Miami.
Spanish outlet Cadena Ser also claims that a move to Inter Miami is on the table, with Messi planning to stay at Barcelona until 2023 before moving to America.
The report claims that Messi has already bought an apartment in the luxury Porsche Design Tower in Florida and wants his children to go to high school in the States.
Messi recently told Spanish television channel La Sexta that his short-term future is still up in the air but that he would "like to play in the United States and experience life and the league there".
He said: "I don't know what I'm going to do yet. I'm going to wait until the season ends. I would like to play in the United States and experience life and the league there, but ultimately come back to Barcelona in some capacity.
"Right now the most important thing is to focus on the team and finish the season well, to focus on trying to win trophies and not get distracted by other things."
Messi also opened up about last summer's transfer saga, adding: "These days I am feeling well. I had a really bad time last summer with the Burofax and all that, and before.
"But now I feel good, excited to fight for everything in front of us. But club going through difficult moment, team too, everything around Barca is difficult."
