Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has received his call-up for the Ivory Coast.

The 18-year-old, who officially joined the club in January from Atalanta for a fee of up to €40million (£36m), will join up with the Elephants for their final two Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against Niger and Ethiopia, with the tournament proper taking place in January and February 2022.

Diallo’s club team-mate Eric Bailly also features, as do Serge Aurier, Willy Boly, AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, Nicolas Pepe and Wilfried Zaha.

Patrice Beaumelle’s men currently top their group on head-to-head record with Madagascar, with both teams sitting on seven points.

Ethiopia are sitting ominously in third with six points, while Niger prop up the table with three points.

Diallo has already shown what he can produce during his brief time in England so far.

The teenager hit the ground for the Under-23s in late January, scoring twice as they swept aside Liverpool’s Under-23s 6-3.

Diallo scored his first-ever senior goal for Atalanta against Udinese last season aged just 17

The winger has hit the ground running at Old Trafford and netted brilliantly against AC Milan

He then made his debut for the first team as a substitute for Mason Greenwood in the Europa League during the 4-0 win at Real Sociedad in the first leg of the round of 32.

Diallo came off the bench at half time for Anthony Martial on March 11 against AC Milan and scored his first senior United goal with a brilliant flicked header to beat Gianluigi Donnarumma.

He was most recently introduced on 84 minutes during the FA Cup defeat to Leicester over the weekend and could well make his first start under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before the end of the season.
