Donny van de Beek’s agent expects the former Ajax midfielder to get more game time for Manchester United this season. Guido Albers has lifted the lid on what has changed between his client and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after Van de Beek made just four Premier League starts last term.
The 24-year-old endured a frustrating first campaign at United following his £35million switch from Ajax last summer.
The Dutch international made just 15 starts in all competition – with most of those coming in cup contests.
His struggles led to speculation he could seek a move this summer, and has not made it onto the pitch in the Red Devils’ first two games this season.
But Albers believes Van de Beek will be set for more action this term after being provided with “clarity” over his role by manager Solskjaer.

“Everyone within the club knows that Donny cannot have another season like last year,” Albers told De Telegraaf.
“In preparation, clarity has been provided about his role.
“The fans had already embraced him before, but the most important thing is that the trainer has now provided clarity in the English press.
“We are happy with that. And I assume that Donny will play a lot in one of the positions in midfield in the coming period.”

Man Utd’s nightmare Champions League draw scenario
Albers’ comments come after Solskjaer insisted the midfielder is still in his plans following Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Southampton.
The manager said Van de Beek would be “really important” – along wth summer signing Jadon Sancho, who has been limited to two appearances off the bench so far since his move from Borussia Dortmund.
“Tell me what I should do differently in my team now?,” Solskjaer said when quizzed about Van de Beek.
“Matic was excellent, and so were others. Jadon and Donny are going to be really important to us.”
