England vs Scotland Under 19 game ABANDONED at half-time after players are told member of backroom staff had tested positive for Covid-19
- Friendly game at St George’s Park on Thursday called off mid-way through
- It came after a non-playing member of staff returned a positive Covid test
- England were leading Scotland 3-1 at the time of the cancellation
- The two nations are set to meet in another friendly there on Sunday
England Under-19s’ clash against Scotland was abandoned midway through on Thursday afternoon after a positive Covid test came to light during the game.
The home nations clash was taking place at St George’s Park in Burton earlier today, but had to be hastily called off after a positive result emerged from one of the participants.
It is understood the positive reading was taken from a non-playing member of staff.

Thursday’s match is the first of a double-header this week between the sides with a second match scheduled for Sunday also at St George’s Park.
The England squad selected for the matches included young players from Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Leeds United among other leading clubs.
