Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly eyeing a reunion with Real Madrid star James Rodriguez.
The Colombian is surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu and looks set to move on this summer.
Madrid want to cash-in on the midfielder before his contract expires in 2021, with the Toffees among the interested clubs.
Rodriguez spent a year working under Ancelotti during the Italian's time at Madrid in the 2014-15 season.
He was later loaned out to Bayern Munich for a two-year stint which ended last summer, but has no future at the Los Blancos.
Marca report that Ancelotti is now keen on bringing his former star to Goodison Park, and Rodriguez is receptive to the idea.
Ancelotti wanted to take Rodriguez to Napoli during his time in charge of the Serie A outfit, and said in July: "I’m very attached to James, I rate him very highly and he can certainly improve our team."
Despite moving clubs, Ancelotti is still hopeful of working with the 28-year-old again.
Wolves and Arsenal have also shown an interest, but Rodriguez is thought to prefer a switch to the blue half of Merseyside.
He has only made 13 appearances for Madrid so far this season in a campaign blighted by injury problems.
A fee is yet to be discussed, but Madrid will no doubt want to recoup some of the £71million package they laid out to land Rodriguez in 2014.
Ancelotti is also said to be targeting his former Napoli charge Arkadiusz Milik.
