Nantes supporters have reacted to the actions of owner and president Waldemar Kita in some style.
Christian Gourcuff was recently made the 16th managerial sacking of Kita during the last 14 seasons, and his replacement comes in the form of ex-France boss Raymond Domenech.
The 68-year-old, who guided his country to the final of the 2006 World Cup before their disastrous 2010 campaign, has not held a club role since leaving Lyon back in 1993.
Many of the club have been left baffled by the decision making, and have even opted to play clown music for the staff and players to hear as they attended training on Wednesday.
The music was played to try and oust Kita from his role following a series of indiscretions and the appointment of Domenech as they sit 16th in the Ligue 1 table after three wins from 17 fixtures.
Both the players and staff looked baffled by the unexpected backing music to their session, with Get French Football News quoting one uninvited visitor as saying: “Welcome to the Kita circus! Here, starring his new puppet! His 17th clown.”
Another clip then appears to show captain Abdoulaye Toure invite a fan to join the session, but it is not known if the offer was accepted.
Domenech said of his appointment earlier in the month: "I am very happy and very proud to join today a legendary French club like FC Nantes.
“I can not wait to get to work with the staff and to do everything possible to May the club find a place worthy of its rank.
“I would like to thank in particular Waldemar and Franck Kita for offering me this magnificent opportunity to regain the grounds and to start with this magnificent derby against Rennes on January 6."
With Kita adding: “FC Nantes is happy to be able to count on the experience of Raymond Domenech for the rest of the 2020-2021 season.
“It is a carefully considered choice. I am convinced of the qualities that can bring the former coach of the French team, used to high level, at our Club."
Nantes take on Rennes on January 6.
