Fans spot Klopp’s unusual full-time celebration after Liverpool beat Everton

Jurgen Klopp was a relieved man after Liverpool defeated Everton – and fans noticed the difference in his unusual post-match celebration.

The struggling Reds went into the game against their Merseyside neighbours without a win in their last three Premier League matches. But Mo Salah's goal which was followed up by Liverpool's January signing Cody Gakpo's first league strike, gave the Reds a much-needed 2-0 victory.

Klopp's passionate fist-pump celebration after the full-time whistle showed just how much it meant to the club who now sit in ninth place ahead of Chelsea following their win at Anfield. The spirited German passionately punched the air three times in a row in the direction of the delighted Kop who resoundingly chanted "Yes" every time each one of the blows landed.

And fans on Twitter couldn't help but notice the elation in Klopp's celebration which has been missing throughout Liverpool's indifferent season. One supporter said: "You could feel the relief in those fist pumps from Klopp.."

Another user echoed this sentiment and added: "Klopp's fist pumps at the end was what we missed for so long. There was a sense of relief in there.”

Then a third fan reiterated: "Those Klopp fist pumps was such a relief to see. How you can think this man isn’t the one to rebuild is outrageously stupid.” And a fourth supporter offered: "He meant every one of them."

Liverpool fans have become accustomed to Klopp's infamous fist-pump celebration in the Reds' trophy-laden era in recent times. However, there's not been much for the German to smile about this season as the Anfield giants languish above the bottom half of the table following a dismal run of results.

But Monday night's win could be the spark to reignite the Reds' season as they chase a spot in the Champions League. And Klopp will be hoping his troops can maintain their form going into their second-round match in this season's tournament against holders Real Madrid next week, in a rematch of last year's final.
