Furious Chelsea boss Frank Lampard ‘lost it’ in dressing room at Arsenal

Frank Lampard reportedly lost it in the Chelsea dressing room during the half time break against Arsenal.

Chelsea went into the match at the Emirates on Boxing Day as firm favourites, but were beaten 3-1 by Mikel Arteta's side.

The Blues were 2-0 down at the break and Lampard, who has at times in recent weeks looked tense and nervous, gave his squad the hairdryer treatement.

According to The Athletic, a source revealed that Lampard "lost is" at the players, who were second best in all areas against a young Arsenal side.

Arsenal extended their advantage in the second half through Bukayo Saka before Tammy Abraham netted a consolation for Chelsea five minutes before the end.

After the match, Lampard said: "I am angry because I want us to win games.

"We were lazy to give away a penalty, lazy to give away a free-kick that Xhaka puts in the top corner and I am very, very disappointed in the way we approached the first half because some things in football are basics.

"It is not tactics or systems, it is do you want to run, back your team-mate out and sprint? Or do you want to jog and say 'Maybe I don't have to run', and we took that decision instead of the right one."

On Arsenal, Arteta said: "It is a really special day. It doesn't get any better – Boxing Day, playing a London derby at the Emirates and winning the way we've done it.

"We were really disappointed and frustrated with the results, not so much with the performances, but the results.

"The players were suffering, our fans were suffering and hopefully this is a turning point and will elevate the confidence of the team because I know that they can play at this level."
