Loan star Gareth Bale was given an insight into the Tottenham squad’s thoughts on Harry Kane’s future, with the striker edging closer to a departure. Kane is believed to be ready to leave Spurs after enduring another disappointing season that saw the London club finish a lowly seventh in the Premier League.
The England captain has virtually dragged his dysfunctional team to qualification for the maiden season of the Europa Conference League.
He scored 23 goals and notched 14 assists to pick up both the golden boot and playermaker of the year awards.
But it has not been enough to secure a top four spot, with Tottenham also suffering an embarrassing exit from the Europa League at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb.
Spurs also blew their best chance of winning their first major trophy since 2008 when they were dominated by Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.

Tottenham’s failures to reward Kane’s incredible talents with trophies has now left him on the verge of a summer exit.
Manchester United and Manchester City are the two frontrunners to sign the 27-year-old in what would likely be a mega-money deal.
The Red Devils are targeting a new striker in the summer transfer window despite seeing Edinson Cavani extend his stay at Old Trafford.
City meanwhile require a replacement for star forward Sergio Aguero, having released the Argentine international.

Bale is another Spurs star who is set to depart this summer, with his loan move from Real Madrid expiring and a return unlikely.
If it was to be their final match of their Tottenham careers, Kane and Bale gave Spurs fans the perfect send-off against Leicester.
Kane equalised for the visitors four minutes before half-time with a fine finish from inside the box, before Bale was introduced as a substitute.
The Welshman helped to turn the match on its head, scoring two goals in the closing stages to win the game for Spurs.
Kane provided the assist for Bale’s first strike when he broke into the box before laying the ball back to the loanee who fired in.
Following the game, Bale gave an insight into his team-mates’ minds over Kane’s future, insisting they want him to stay at the club.
“He’s a fantastic player, no-one can deny that,” Bale said.
“He’s had another fantastic season again, he’s a top player, everyone wants him here at the club. He’s a massive player for us and everyone wants him to stay with us.”
