Prior to the international break Tottenham thrashed Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford to top off a successful spell.

Mourinho’s side had reached the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup and qualified for the Europa League group stage in the same week.

Bale scored 56 goals and provided 58 assists in 203 appearances in his first stint at Tottenham between 2007 and 2013.
