Zlatan Ibrahimovic once yelled at and insulted his ‘scared’ LA Galaxy team-mates for 90 minutes, revealed Florian Jungwirth, the San Jose Earthquakes defender tasked with marking him that day.
Jungwirth recalls the hilarious anecdote which saw the outspoken Swede lambast his Galaxy team-mates so much that they withdrew to that of a ‘little kid’.
Revealing all in an Instagram Q&A, Jungwirth said: ‘I think it was in 2018 when we played at Stanford against Zlatan first time – and he was like really insulting all his team-mates.

‘For 90 minutes – he was yelling at everyone. It was just funny.
‘Everyone was so scared of him and I was just laughing because everyone was like a little kid. They were like, “Daddy, can I get something from you?”.’
Ibrahimovic spent two years with LA Galaxy in the MLS between 2018 and 2019 before switching back to AC Milan in January on a free transfer.

Jungwirth had the unenviable task of trying to keep Ibrahimovic at bay and it quickly became apparent that taunting the former Sweden international striker would prove a major mistake.
‘Some opponents you have to provoke them, they maybe have a temper,’ the San Jose defender added.
‘But when you start playing games against Zlatan, there is no way you can win.’
Ibrahimovic is not known for being a soft touch when it comes to what he expects from his team-mates.
Manchester United left back Luke Shaw revealed this week that Ibrahimovic was particularly intense during some practice exercises while he was in England.
‘He was mad. I think he was what we needed in the dressing room,’ Shaw said during the Combat Corona FIFA Twitch tournament .

‘He’s unbelievable, he still had the talent and even though he was a bit older he was still the amazing player that he had been.
‘But I think inside the dressing room he was great. He had a lot of jokes but I think when it got serious, and when he had to sort of put his foot down, you knew about it.
‘I think he was a born winner. Even in little training games, if he didn’t win and you were on his team he would absolutely kill you.’
