An insane prediction from 2015 has gone viral after Lionel Messi and Argentina won the World Cup.
La Albiceleste were twice pegged back by France before winning 4-2 on penalties to lift the trophy for the first time since 1986, with Messi winning the World Cup for the first time in his illustrious career. Following the match, a tweet from March 20 2015 went viral on social media as Twitter user Jose Miguel Polanco had correctly predicted the match result.
More than seven years before Messi's crowning moment, they tweeted: “December 18, 2022. 34 year old Leo Messi will win the World Cup and become the greatest player of all time. Check back with me in 7 years.”

The post has since racked up more than 300,000 likes and has been retweeted over 100,000 times. However, Polanco did incorrectly write that Messi would be 34, when he in fact lifted the trophy aged 35.
Back in January, Polanco had added: “The number of people who put the reminder in the tweet scares me, at the end of the year they are going to lynch me I am going to stay in Qatar with a tunic as the doc said.”
Then, on Saturday, he commented: “Well this exploded so all I will say is that I was in Doha and the hope is bigger than ever.”

Following the final, he emotionally wrote: “It was given. I followed you to all parts of the world and at last we were able to taste eternal glory.
"You are not a love that hurts me, you are the love of my life. I am the happiest guy in the world, as well as the 45 million Argentines who have dreamed of this since we have the use of reason.”
Messi scored twice and was named man of the match before converting his penalty as Argentina triumphed on spot-kicks after a dramatic 3-3 draw. He also picked up the award for player of the tournament at full-time.
In response to Polanco's prediction, one fan attempted their own prediction for the next tournament, writing: “There is only one. 2026 Cristiano will lift the World Cup in the USA. Come back to me after 4 years.” Ronaldo will be 41 before the end of that World Cup.
