Jude Bellingham has already hinted at Liverpool admiration as £80m transfer eyed

Jude Bellingham has already hinted at a possible transfer to Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp set to try and raid former club Borussia Dortmund for their prized asset.

The 18-year-old is heavily admired by the German gaffer after excelled for the Bundesliga side since his move from Championship club Birmingham City in 2020.

Now a regular with England, the youngster received many plaudits for his performance against Andorra in the Three Lions World Cup qualifying match.

But now Bellingham may be ready to take the next step in his career with a move to the Premier League and his recent comments on an England YouTube video have sparked Liverpool fans into frenzy.

The Dortmund midfielder is a huge admirer of Reds legend Steven Gerrard and when questioned as to who he'd like to swap shirts the teenager had to go with his boyhood idol.

“Stevie G, easily to be fair. In fact, no it is not easy, I think him or Rooney definitely close,” said Bellingham when questioned.

“But I think I would go Gerrard, though. The No.8, similar position to me, so yeah, I would probably go with him.”

This isn't the first time Bellingham has shown his appreciation of Liverpool and Gerrard in particular.

In May the teenager retweeted a compilation video of the former England international, showing a highlights reel from his sensational career.

But the admiration is not a one-way street; current Reds captain Jordan Henderson believes his England teammate has what it takes to go all the way:

"He's a fantastic player," said Henderson following England's 4-0 thrashing of Andorra.

"Even at such a young age he shows fantastic maturity on and off the field. You can see how hungry he is to be a top player and has all the attributes to do that.

"I was trying to help as much as I could but to be honest he is a top player who has shown that in the big games for Dortmund. I see him going from strength to strength all the time.

"I don't want to praise him too much and put too much pressure on him but he has a very good head on his shoulders, I'm told he has good people around him and a good family, and you can see that is an important part of him. I think he will be a top player going forward."
