  • Morrison has concluded a spell on loan at Middlesbrough from Sheffield United

Jesse Lingard has named Ravel Morrison and Paul Pogba as the most talented youngsters that he played with in Manchester United’s academy.

The trio were all part of the United side that won the FA Youth Cup in 2011 and were tipped for success.

However, while Lingard and Pogba have featured prominently for United and at international level, Morrison has had a rather nomadic career.

Jesse Lingard named Ravel Morrison as one of the most promising youngsters he played with

Morrison made three senior appearances for United before signing for West Ham in 2012

As reported by Tribal Football, Lingard said: ‘I would probably say Ravel Morrison and Paul Pogba.

‘Ravel was very technically gifted and had natural shooting and dribbling ability. He had everything in his locker.

‘And with Paul, I have known him since he was 16 and he was big at that age and he has been maturing each year and you can see what kind of player he has turned out to be.

‘He has gone on to win many trophies and a World Cup.’

Morrison joined Sheffield United last summer but was then sent out on loan to Middlesbrough

Morrison made just three senior appearances for United before sealing a move to West Ham, for whom he scored a memorable goal against Tottenham in 2013.

However, he has since struggled for consistency and has had stints at Lazio and Ostersunds as well as various loan spells elsewhere.

Morrison spent the second half of this season on loan at Middlesbrough from Sheffield United, but played just three times in the Championship.

A former England Under-21 international, Morrison has yet to be capped by the Three Lions at senior level having been unable to fulfil his vast potential.
