Trent Alexander-Arnold’s poor form this season appears to have convinced Liverpool to sign a new right-back this summer.
The 22-year-old has been a virtual ever-present under Jurgen Klopp as the Reds won the Champions League and Premier League in successive seasons.
But he has struggled as Liverpool’s title defence has faltered, leading to Alexander-Arnold being left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the March World Cup qualifiers.
The right-back has lost more defensive duels than he has won this season and has a cross accuracy of just 19 per cent.
By comparison, one of his main competitors for an England shirt, Reece James, has won 30 more defensive duels and has a higher cross accuracy than the Liverpool man.
And the concern over Alexander-Arnold’s form has seen Liverpool look to add to their options in his position this summer.
Tuttosport report that the Reds have submitted an offer of £17million for Torino right-back Wilfried Singo, though it is expected to take an offer of around £21m to convince the Serie A club to sell.
Alexander-Arnold is still only 22-years-old, but it appears Klopp has decided to strengthen at right-back after the Englishman’s struggles.
Singo has been a key part of Davide Nicola’s side this season, as they aim to beat the drop and stay in Serie A.
A right-back by trade, the Ivorian has mainly been selected on the right wing of a 3-5-2 formation by Nicola.
He has scored one goal and recorded three assists, with Torino currently outside the relegation zone by one point.
Nicola’s men have conceded the second-lowest amount of goals of anyone currently in the Serie A bottom six, with Singo impressing with his powerful and decisive play.

Singo is viewed as an important played for the future by Torino, though Liverpool hope to complete a deal for him as soon as possible.
That is because AC Milan are also interested in the 20-year-old, with Stefano Pioli keen for Singo to become his new right-winger.
