Luke Shaw makes Man Utd demand as he bemoans "unacceptable" Arsenal draw

Luke Shaw concedes Manchester United have to be winning games against Arsenal if they are a serious about challenging for the title.

The Red Devils played out a goalless draw at the Emirates to slip further behind leaders Manchester City.

United have failed to win three of their last four and were shocked by Sheffield United in midweek.

Their stalemate in north London – which Shaw labelled "unacceptable" – means they are now five points off the summit.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were not expected to challenge at the top, but at the midway point of the season are in contention.

Shaw though felt as if their draw at the Gunners was a missed opportunity.

He told Sky Sports : "[It's] two points dropped I feel. I felt we were in control, Arsenal had a spell but we were comfortable and had countless massive chances we haven't taken.

"It would have been a brilliant result winning here, we have to be winning these games.

"The chances we had, I don't think it's acceptable to come away with a point – I haven't been in the changing room yet but I'm sure the lads will be disappointed.

"At times we were too slow. Second half we were sloppy and gave the ball away. We didn't look like we wanted to play.

"We created the chances and failed to score again and it cost us two points.

"We dropped points in midweek and again here. If we want to be in the title race we have to be winning these games. I don't know what more to say."

United's away form has been crucial to their rise this season but they were unable to impose themselves on the north London outfit.

Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani all had half chances that could've been decisive.

Instead United will look to return to winning ways in consecutive home games against Everton and Southampton.
