Man City star Leroy Sane edging closer to Bayern Munich transfer

Leroy Sane is moving closer to a Manchester City exit this summer and a dream move to Bayern Munich.

Sane's representatives have stepped up their efforts to secure the Germany winger a return to his homeland after four years at City.

Bayern are ready to offer around £70million for Sane – half of what City were willing to accept for the 24-year-old last summer before he was injured.

Sane has spent the entire season out of action, following a serious knee ligament injury last August, but that has not deterred Bayern, who are confident they can land him for effectively a bargain price.

With one more year left on his contract and with Sane having refused to sign a new one, his market value has plummeted, with City facing the prospect of selling him this summer or risk losing him for nothing next year.

The impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the transfer market is also likely to see the value of players drop considerably, further enhancing Bayern's ability to land Sane on the cheap this summer.

Sane's new representatives, LIAN Sports, confirmed they are in dialogue with City and Bayern, with the winger pinning his hopes on a move to the latter this summer.

“It is true that we now officially have the mandate as a consultant to Leroy Sané and can now hold talks,” said agent Damir Smoljan.

“Together with him, we exchange ideas with Manchester City about what the next step could look like.

“The basic interest of FC Bayern is no secret. But other top clubs across Europe have already contacted us about Leroy.
