Man Utd fans spot Fernandes’s reaction to Cavani goal in Carabao Cup

Manchester United took a major step to their first major trophy under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with a dramatic 2-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park.

After reaching the Europa League final-four last season, Solskjaer’s side were dumped out by Sevilla.

But the win over the Toffees puts United into the semi finals of the Carabao Cup, where they will face Man City at the start of 2021.

Goals from Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial earned the Red Devils the win, with the first not coming until the 88th minute.

And following the Uruguayan’s goal, it was Bruno Fernandes’ reaction that thoroughly impressed the United fans at home.

The Portuguese superstar was seen sprinting towards the celebrating striker before diving onto the top of the pile and roaring in delight.

Fernandes has recently discussed how his only frustration in his first 12 months at Old Trafford was the side not picking up any silverware.

“I think the first 12 months, the 11 months for me [here], have been great,” he told the club’s official site. “Of course, the main thing I want, I didn’t achieve, until now, is the trophies. That is clear.

“We really can do that in 2021 and, of course, I think, at the end of everything, what we did in the last 11 months was really good. I’m very happy to be here and to be part of this biggest club.”

And fans certainly spotted that attitude with his passionate response to the all-important goal on Merseyside.

“That’s a man obsessed with winning trophies right there, not just the top  4. A true United player,” one United fan said in reply.

Another posted: “He just wants to win everything”, while another suggested: “Bruno is elite mentality. A born winner”.

“Shocking how just one player can change the morale of the whole club”, a third said.

“Bruno’s mentality is so needed at this club. With young guys coming through the team, they need some leaders and boy does Bruno bring it. Without a doubt, he’s the best signing we’ve had since RVP. A wizard on the ball. Obsessed with winning,” another concluded.
