Manchester United will have to go on a charm offensive in order to land Jadon Sancho, it’s been claimed. The Red Devils were unsuccessful in their attempt to lure the England winger away from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
United’s pursuit of Sancho was thwarted by Ed Woodward’s refusal to meet Dortmund’s £108million valuation of the player.
It’s understood the Premier League big boys are still eager on acquiring the Manchester City academy graduate’s services, with a summer 2021 bid most likely.
Sancho, however, is said to be “disappointed” by United’s refusal to meet his asking price.
And according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils will need to turn on the charm if they’re going to sign the wide man.

Manchester United refused to meet Jadon Sancho’s asking price
“The player was pushing, we always said he wasn’t going to force his move to United but he’s ready to join and he’s also a bit disappointed about what happened,” Romano said during the latest episode of his ‘Here We Go’ podcast.
“I’m told by people close to Jadon that he’s a bit disappointed and he was expecting United to make a bid to sign him this summer.
“Pay attention to the situation for January, for next summer. But Jadon is a bit disappointed and United have to show really if they want him.
“I think they saved some money this summer. They said no to Dembele for €60m (£55million), they said no to Ismaila Sarr for €50m (£45million).

“That’s why I think they want to try again for Sancho but they need to convince again Jadon, because he’s a bit disappointed about what happened and he really strongly wanted to join United.
“It’s not about money. He doesn’t want anything more about the money or the contract, they need to show him they want him.”
United’s potential uphill task in signing Sancho could prompt their bitter rivals Liverpool to pip them to his signature.
According to the Independent, Merseyside is one of the “likelier” destinations for the winger following United’s decision not to meet his asking price.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of Sancho – who he eulogised after a pre-season friendly last summer – and could be tempted to swoop for his services to further bolster his already star-studded squad.
The recent signing of Portuguese forward Diogo Jota, however, could make the German think twice about signing another winger.
Sancho and his Borussia Dortmund team-mates will be back in action on a week on Saturday, travelling to the Rhein Neckar Arena to take on Hoffenheim.
United and Liverpool, meanwhile, will also return to the pitch on Saturday week, taking on Newcastle and Everton respectively.
