Manchester United have been given an extra week to prepare for the new Premier League season thanks to their involvement in the latter stages of the Europa League last term.
However, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad get ready for their opener against Crystal Palace this weekend, there may be more transfer business to get out of the way.
Donny van de Beek has been the only new arrival, with Alexis Sanchez among those to leave Old Trafford over the last few weeks.
JUST IN: Tottenham and Jose Mourinho set to beat Man Utd to Sergio Reguilon
But there could be more to come with ins and outs mooted at both ends of the pitch.
Express Sport rounds up some of the latest transfer rumours concerning last season’s third-placed finishers.
Tottenham set to beat United to Reguilon
Manchester United have been running the rule over Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon this summer, but it appears as though Tottenham have stolen a march in the race for the defender.
Reguilon spent last season on loan at Sevilla, helping eliminate United from the Europa League, and remains out of favour at the Bernabeu with Zinedine Zidane preferring Ferland Mendy and Marcelo in his position.
According to The Athletic, United have entered negotiations over a move for the full-back but a Spurs switch is described as “highly possible”.
It would be a permanent transfer, rather than another loan for the 23-year-old.

Solskjaer ready to raid Valencia for cut-price midfielder
Valencia have been listening to offers for a number of senior players this summer following a difficult end to the 2019/20 campaign.
Financial issues and a failure to qualify for Europe have seen Rodrigo, Ferran Torres and others leave the Mestalla, and Uros Racic could be next.
According to the The Sun, the 22-year-old midfielder could be available for £28million despite having two years left on his current deal.
The Serbia Under-21 international joined from Red Star Belgrade in 2018, and has drawn comparisons with compatriot Nemanja Matic.

He made his La Liga debut against Levante over the weekend, having spent the last two seasons out on loan – first with Tenerife and then with Famalicao last term.

Former United winger makes Lingard prediction
Jesse Lingard endured a difficult 2019/20 season, playing fewer than 1,000 minutes in the Premier League.
The Manchester United academy product has spoken of his struggles, but another man who came through the club’s ranks has backed Lingard to turn things around despite talk of an Old Trafford exit for the midfielder.
Luke Chadwick played 25 career league games for United, eventually leaving the club to join West Ham, and the retired winger told CaughtOffside he believes his compatriot can still offer something this season.
“On form I think Jesse Lingard can offer so much to Manchester United,” Chadwick said.
“We speak about players like Pogba, Fernandes, who are all wonderful on the ball, but I think what Lingard offers is wonderful movement, whether he plays in central or wide areas. He understands the game really well in terms of his movement off the ball.
“I think maybe more likely now is that that could be coming off the bench, but I think there is game time there for Lingard.”
