Five potential transfer destinations for Harry Kane
Manchester United would ‘have to kill Daniel Levy’ if they’re to stand a chance of signing Harry Kane, reports say. The Tottenham chief is reluctant to offload his prized asset this summer. And that means the Spurs hitman could potentially stay for another year before leaving in 12 months’ time on a free transfer.
Manchester United are sold on signing Kane and reports earlier in the week claimed the Red Devils were set to make an early play for the Tottenham star.
However, the Manchester Evening News say the Red Devils are looking at alternatives due to fears over how a pursuit may work.
Tottenham chief Levy is a stubborn negotiator and hasn’t let a single player move to Old Trafford since Dimitar Berbatov in 2008.
Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld have all been either sold elsewhere or kept, despite interest from United over the past decade or so.
The report also quoted a source who has worked with Levy half-jokingly saying the Red Devils ‘would have to kill’ the Tottenham supremo to land their man.
And though United won’t give up on Kane, they appear to be making alternative plans in the background.
Man Utd takeover: Garnacho could be set for awkward reunion after Sheikh Jassim approval
Victor Osimhen is one player under consideration, with the Nigeria international’s goals this season firing Napoli to a first Serie A title since 1990.
Dusan Vlahovic has long had admirers at Old Trafford, amid a possibility Juventus will sell the Serbia international following their recent points deduction.
United have emerged as potential suitors for Goncalo Ramos, who has bagged 18 goals from 29 Primeira Liga matches for Benfica this term.
And Mohammed Kudus has been tracked as well, with Ajax bracing themselves for yet another departure this summer.
United know they need a new No 9 to challenge Manchester City for Premier League title supremacy next season.

They saw Cristiano Ronaldo jump ship in November, with the 38-year-old moving to Al-Nassr after publicly criticising Erik ten Hag in an interview with Piers Morgan.
Anthony Martial, despite his goal against Chelsea on Thursday night, has long blown hot and cold.
And Wout Weghorst has been a disappointment since his January arrival from Burnley, netting just two times for the club.
Whether United are able to land Kane remains to be seen.
But there’s no denying he’d be a significant recruit for the Red Devils if they’re able to convince Tottenham, and Levy, into selling up.

Meanwhile, speaking on Thursday night, Jamie Redknapp insisted Kane should push to leave Tottenham for United this summer.
“It’s the facts, it feels Spurs are a shambles, if you are Harry Kane with one year to go this is the time to leave he has to push now,” he said.
“(Manchester) United they might get someone, he missed Man City a few years ago, right now he needs to push with one year on contract to go somewhere.”
He added: “Tottenham are like a social experiment of how far you can push your fans before they completely lose it.
“They need to do something, no one wants to lose Harry Kane, he has been incredible but deserves better.”
As for Kane, the Tottenham hitman recently insisted his sole focus was on helping his side finish a bad season on a positive note.
“I’ve said all along I’m focused on this season and trying to help the team as much as possible,” he said.
“That’s all I can do.
“There’s a big summer ahead and a lot that needs to change here to start being successful again.
“Ultimately my focus now is to enjoy this last week as much as possible and try to finish with a win [at Leeds United] on Sunday.”
