Manchester United are planning to use Alex Telles in a swap deal with Inter Milan when the transfer window reopens at the end of the campaign, according to reports. The Brazil international only joined from Porto four months ago. But he’s struggled for consistent action at Old Trafford, especially with Luke Shaw in such resurgent form.
United thought about signing Sergio Reguilon a few months ago.
But they opted against landing the defender, then at Real Madrid, due to the La Liga giants’ insistence on a buyback clause.
United then decided to swoop for Telles instead, with the Brazil international moving from Porto.
He excelled on his debut in a 3-2 Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain but, since then, has spent most of his time at the club stuck on the bench.
Shaw hasn’t helped his cause, with the England international back to his blockbuster best.

And, now, Inter Live claim that United are planning to use Telles in a swap deal with Inter Milan at the end of the campaign.
It’s said United are eyeing Marcelo Brozovic, who has become a vital player for the Italian giants this season under Antonio Conte.
They believe Telles to be valued at £17million, slightly more than what they paid for him four months ago.

And United are then hoping to offer Inter a cash sum in the region of £17m to £26m in order to convince them into parting ways with Brozovic.
However, despite such reports it still seems somewhat unlikely that United will submit such a bid.
United depend on Telles, with the Samba star trusted by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer whenever the Norwegian feels Shaw needs some time off.
And while Brozovic has fared well for Inter, the Red Devils have other priorities at the current moment in time.
Solskjaer would like to sign a new defender to partner Harry Maguire, especially given the inconsistency of Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe this term.
Links to Jadon Sancho remain ongoing, too, with the England international recently rediscovering his best form at Borussia Dortmund.
And Sancho’s team-mate, Erling Haaland, is understood to be of interest as Solskjaer eyes an upgrade on Anthony Martial.
Meanwhile, Telles recently expressed a belief that United were well-placed to challenge for silverware this term – with Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League glory all still possible.
“I think when you’ve got a really high quality group of players the fixture calendar isn’t actually too bad, we’ve shown this,” he said.
“Our coach has rotated the side and brought other players in and these players have come in and put in great performances so we haven’t really felt the difference.
“Whenever players have come into the team, they come in to do their best and we’re all very prepared to come in and contribute.”
Telles also claimed he was relaxed over his situation at United, saying: “I’m really happy to have played at such big clubs that have always been competing for and winning trophies.
“everywhere I’ve gone we’ve won trophies thank god and I hope we can do that here.
“I think the way I can contribute is to just do my best in my position day-to-day and bring what I’m doing in training into games. You have to respect the players you’re up against and do your best against them.
“I want to help the team by working hard every day in training and bring it onto the pitch and, if we can all do that, then not just individual players win but the whole team wins.”
