Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was snubbed in the latest Premier League Player of the Month nominations, while team-mate Mason Greenwood was chosen. Greenwood, 19, has enjoyed a fantastic start to the season which has seen him score three goals in United’s opening three Premier League game.
Pogba meanwhile, has also had a successful start to the campaign, registering five assists in three matches – including four in the season opener against Leeds – but found himself surprisingly overlooked for the recent award.
United remain unbeaten in the Premier League are currently third in the table with seven points.
The Red Devils thumped Leeds 5-1 on the opening day, before they drew 1-1 with Southampton, and then beat Wolves 1-0 at Molineux on Sunday thanks to an 81st minute winner from Greenwood.
Six players have been shortlisted for August’s EA SPORTS Player of the Month award including West Ham duo Michail Antonio and Said Benrahma, Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso, Eric Dier, Demarai Gray and Greenwood.

Antonio is arguably the pick of the bunch after scoring four goals in three league games to move top of the league’s goalscoring charts.
The Hammers forward recently became West Ham’s all-time leading Premier League scorer after netting his 48th top-flight goal against Leicester to break Paulo di Canio’s record.
Meanwhile, Pogba is in the final year of his contract and is facing an uncertain future at United amid speculation linking him with a move away from the club.
The Frenchman has reportedly attracted interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid, who could sign the midfielder for free upon the expiration of his contract next summer.

However, the 28-year-old wasn’t giving anything away when quizzed about his future ahead of the recent game against Wolves.
To be honest, I am very happy, I enjoy myself. The Premier League is back, I play football again after a nice holiday, so it is very, very good,” Pogba told TV2.
“When you get to a final and lose, it is always very painful.
“Now we are hungry to do better than last season and we want to win a trophy.
“I’m happy. To be honest, I’m glad I’m feeling good. I’m healthy, I have no injuries and I’m happy, even if I would have preferred to win the last game [against Southampton]. It’s all about winning.”
United’s next game is against Newcastle which is set to take place a week on Saturday at Old Trafford.
New signing Cristiano Ronaldo – who re-joined who completed his sensational return to the club on deadline day – is expected to make his debut.
Fans can vote for who they think should win the award by going to the EA SPORTS website and choosing from the shortlist before September 6.
