Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is close to officially committing his long-term future to Arsenal, after teasing an announcement about a new contract.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta revealed the club were close to agreeing a new deal with their captain after Aubameyang scored in their 3-0 win over Fulham on the opening day of the new Premier League season.
"I'm really positive we are going to get it done very soon and hopefully in the next few days you will get some news," Arteta told BT Sport after the game.
Aubameyang then further teased fans that an announcement about his new contract was imminent, simply tweeting an hourglass emoji.
The expected new deal will come as a major boost for Arsenal, who have been desperate to keep the prolific goalscorer.
Aubameyang has netted 55 goals in 86 league appearances, including 22 in his last two campaigns, and those goals would have been difficult to replace.
The Gabon international's prospective new contract is thought to be worth around £250,000-a-week.

Speaking earlier this month, Gunners legend Ian Wright underlined Aubameyang's importance to the squad, telling Good Morning Britain: "To be honest, I think he will be the most significant signing Mikel can make.
"We do need to make that happen, simply because of what he brings to that team. When you look at the chances created for Arsenal, they were 16th in the league and he still scored the amount of goals he scored.
