Everton striker Richarlison has emerged as a shock contender to replace Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain, according to RMC Sport.

The French World Cup winner has reportedly turned down a new contract offer with the Parisians, and his future at the club looks like its’ edging closer and closer to the exit door.

It has even prompted the French TV channel to claim the 22-year-old mercurial striker will definitely depart the Parc Des Princes.

To make matters worse for the nine-time French champions, it is highly likely the striker will leave on a free transfer, with his current contract set to expire next June.

With this in mind, it appears they are already drafting up a list of names to replace the striker who cost the club a staggering £130million in 2018.

It has been reported the French giants have made contact with Richarlison’s representatives over a possible move next season.

The Brazilian striker, who scored five goals and contributed one assist in Brazil’s glorious gold medal winning Olympic Games in Tokyo, is valued at around £50m by Transfermarkt.

However, there is no buy-out clause in the former Watford striker’s contract; therefore, Everton will be in a position to dictate exactly how much they want for striker.

Richarlison signed a contract extension until 2024 in December 2019.

He was signed from Watford by former manager Marco Silva, in a deal worth £35 million.

Since he arrived at Goodison Park, he has gone on to score a respectable 43 goals in 123 appearances on the blue half of Merseyside.

But, it appears Mauricio Pochettino’s side feel the 24-year-old striker could be the ideal replacement for Mbappe, should he depart the club next summer as expected.

The Parisians have done everything to try and convince the Frenchman to extend his contract this summer.

PSG have enjoyed a stunning transfer window this summer, capitalising on the financial turmoil at Barcelona to sign their legendary striker Lionel Messi on a free contract.

The Argentinean was not able to renew his contract with Barcelona due to the Catalans’ wage bill being over the La Liga salary cap.

They have also secured the free signings of Liverpool’s Champions League winning midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, and Italy’s Euro 2020 here Gianluigi Donnarumma from AC Milan.

Serie A champion Achraf Hakimi also arrived from Inter Milan for a deal worth £54m.

However, this does not appear to have convinced Mbappe to follow Neymar’s lead in extending his contract and committing his future to the club.

The Brazilian, who arrived into the French capital in the same season as Mbappe for a record-breaking £200m fee, recently signed a new deal keeping him at the Parc Des Princes until 2025.
