Real Madrid are set to put six players on the transfer list in order to help ease pressure on the club’s staggering £92million wage bill, according to reports. The Spanish giants are reportedly interested in both Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, and offloading several players in January would help pave the way for such moves.
Real Madrid had a €200million (£171m) move rejected by PSG for Mbappe on deadline day, but the Frenchman’s contract is up at the end of the summer.
According to Spanish outlet AS, the club will be looking to get rid of no fewer than six players, many of whom are in the final year of their respective contracts.
Here is a look at who those players are:

The Welshman continues to face an uncertain future at the Bernabeu after returning to the club this summer.
Bale spent the previous campaign on loan at Spurs but has since been reintegrated into the first-team set-up to some degree under Carlo Ancelotti.
The 32-year-old’s contract expires next summer and Bale reportedly earns a salary of around €15million a year. Despite his huge wages, there is bound to be a number of clubs interested in taking him.
It’s fair to say the Belgian’s dream move to the Bernabeu has been nothing short of a disaster.
Hazard’s Real Madrid career has been plagued by injuries, which saw him miss 44 LaLiga games during his first two seasons at the club.
The 30-year-old reportedly earns a similar salary to Bale and has been linked with a return to former club Chelsea as well as mega-rich Newcastle.
Another player in the final year of his contract.
Marcelo had been a mainstay in Real Madrid’s side for more than a decade, but the left-back has in recent times lost his place in the starting XI under Ancelotti.
The Spaniard is another player who could be moved on by Ancelotti in January.
Isco has been linked with a move to the Premier League, but quite where he ends up is not yet clear at this point.
The 29-year-old’s current deal at the club is due to come to an end in the summer and Madrid won’t want to lose him for nothing.
The Serbian has endured a frustrating time at the Bernabeu following his move from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019.
Limited opportunities under Zinedine Zidane saw Jovic spend the second half of the previous campaign with his former employers.
Jovic has made seven appearances so far this season, all of which have come from the substitutes’ bench.
Arsenal are rumoured to be interested in the highly-rated 23-year-old and could make a move for him in January as they look to find a replacement for the outgoing Alexandre Lacazette.
The 24-year-old has made just 12 LaLiga appearances for the club despite signing for the Spanish giants in 2015.
Vallejo has been sent out on loan to the likes of Real Zaragoza, Frankfurt, Wolves and most recently Granada in an attempt to gain first-team experience.
The centre-back is yet to play for Ancelotti’s side this season and he may never play for the club again as they are reportedly now planing to offload him.
