Real Madrid are keeping their options open with Gareth Bale and could even bring him back to the Bernabeu next summer.
The Welshman made an emotional Tottenham return during the summer window, signing a season-long loan deal with Jose Mourinho's side.
Bale scored the first goal of his second spell during the win over Brighton and Wales caretaker boss Rob Page, has claimed the winger looks the happiest he has been in years.
Page said: “If I am honest since I have been involved with the squad , it is the first time he has been at a club where he seems to be enjoying his football and his training.
“He looks fit and feels fit.
“It is good to have a fully fit Gareth Bale involved in the squad.”
Sergio Reguillon, who also swapped Madrid for north London, confirmed that Bale’s mood has improved since the move.
“Bale sometimes even acts as a translator for some specific things. He is much more comfortable speaking English with all his colleagues, it shows a lot. I see him happier, it’s the matter of being comfortable in a team,” he told El Chingurito (via Be Soccer).
“The fundamental part has been the language. Here, he talks to all his teammates. In Madrid, he was more afraid of failing with the language. The change, for him, has been very positive.”

However, currently his return to Spurs is a temporary one, with Los Blancos still yet to decide on his long-term future.
According to a report in AS, Real’s top wish is that Bale regains his form and they can cash in on a permanent deal at the end of the season.
Real are desperate to lower their wage bill and clearing Bale off the bill, could save them a staggering €30million-per-year.
They are also open to the idea of loaning Bale back to Spurs, although they would demand the Premier League club pay the entirety of his wages.
The report does also suggest that he ‘could return to the ranks of Madrid’, despite his relationship with boss Zinedine Zidane breaking down.
