Jamie Redknapp has labelled Leandro Trossard as a ‘typical Arsenal player’ after his cameo in their recent win over Manchester United.

The Belgian midfielder – who completed a £27million move to north London this week – came on in the 82nd minute of Arsenal’s match, which they won 3-2.

Trossard played a hand in the winning goal and was showered in plaudits after the match, as Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp called the midfielder a ‘real bargain’.

Speaking after the match, Redknapp said: ‘When they didn’t get Mudryk, there might have been panic stations.

‘But Trossard showed in a 15 minute cameo that he will be a great signing for them.

‘He is a typical Arsenal player. £22 million, that is a real bargain from their point of view.’

The former Seagull player entered the fray late into the match and made his mark moments later after driving forward, laying the ball to a team-mate before it ended up finding it’s way into the back of the net.

The Gunners secured a move for Trossard after missing out Mykhailo Mudryk, who signed for Chelsea and made his debut in their recent 0-0 draw with Liverpool.

It was an intense fixture for Trossard to make his Arsenal debut in, after the Gunners had to fight from behind to earn all three points.

Marcus Rashford had given the visitors the lead before Eddie Nketiah quickly levelled the scoring. The Gunners went ahead in the second-half thanks to Bukayo Saka.

United’s Lisandro Martinez then equalised after pouncing on a loose ball from a corner before Nketiah struck again, late on, to win the game for the hosts.

The Gunners will have a break from Premier League action next, as they take on league rivals Man City in the FA Cup on Friday night.
